Match On Action
Our match on action within our short film could of improved in some aspects so that it was more continuous and fluent. However this was our first task therefore we will learn and become more confident in doing it.
Eye line Match
Eye line match is when the camera looks at a character who is specifically looking in the direction of someone he is speaking too. We included this in our piece when Daryl was looking at me when we created shot reverse shot. We could improve on our neatness as it looked as though he was looking the wrong way.
180 Degree rule
My group stuck to the 180 degree rule throughout the piece although at one point of the video we need to make sure that the rule is not being violated because it was in the middle and may have gone over the 180 degree line for a little bit. This part was when Daryl was speaking to me in dialogue and the camera strained an inch or two over the 180 degree angle. However this is a learning curve and we can pick up on this and improve within our next task.
Master shot
In our piece there is not a part that we can really do a master shot to show everyone where the piece is taking place. However next time i will include a master shot if it is necessary. A film maker would use this technique in his
WWW
What went well was together as a group we all had the same direction of ideas on our acting and how we could perform our task. We all had good knowledge on the 180 degree rule, match on action, shot reverse shot and eye line match. We included all of these within our task and performed them well.
EBI
Sometimes within our task we didn't get the camera shots right, although we had good knowledge of the four techniques;180 degree rule, match on action, shot reverse shot and eye line match, once we filmed and analysed what looks good we realised some of it was not correct. We then re-recorded and produced it much better.
Our task is below, watch and enjoy.
